Lagos State Police debunks news of Late DCP’s kidnap
The Lagos State Police Command has debunked the allegation that the late DCP, Salihu Khan was kidnapped prior to his death. The unverified information, described as “false, reckless and highly irresponsible” by the Lagos State Police Command had been making rounds on social media following the news of DCP Salihu’s death.
The news of the death of Salihu Khan sparked reactions, including a false information that he was kidnapped, leading to his death. However, the Lagos State Police Command has not only debunked that information but also asserted that he died after a brief illness.
“The Command wishes to state categorically that prior to his passing, DCP Khan Salihu briefly complained of feeling unwell and was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Sadly, upon arrival, medical doctors confirmed him dead. At no time was he abducted, kidnapped, or involved in any incident remotely connected to criminal activity as falsely portrayed in the publication.”
The Police Command dismissed the rumour and described it as “not only inaccurate but also insensitive”, considering the condition of the family, friends and associates of the late DCP.
The command then urged the public to withdraw false reports, disregard any unverified information and rely only on verified information.
