Lagos State Government approves harmonized academic calendar for 2026/2027 academic session
The Lagos State government has approved a harmonized 2026/2027 academic calendar for public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
The Honourable Minister for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Jamiu Tolani announced the approval of the harmonized calendar, portraying it as result of consultations with education stakeholders, facilitated by the Office of Quality Education Assurance (OEQA)
The Commissioner revealed that it took two stakeholder meetings to finalize the calendar. During the meetings, participants reviewed and agreed on key dates for the new academic session.
The newly approved calendar highlights school resumption dates, mid-term breaks, examination periods and holidays to assist schools, teachers, parents and students with planning effectively throughout the academic session.
Mr. Alli-Balogun added that the unified calendar is a reflection of the state government’s commitment to improving the quality of education and ensuring a well-organised academic year, urging all public and private schools to strictly comply with the approved schedule.
Members of the public are advised to access the full 2026/2027 academic calendar on the official website of the Office of Education Quality Assurance at oeqalagos.com as well as on all official Lagos State Government digital platforms.
