LASU Opens 2026/2027 Admission Screening for UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
The Lagos State University has today June 3rd, 2026, commenced its online admission screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a notice issued by the university, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 100-level entry and Direct Entry (DE) for 200-level admission.
The university stated that participation in the online screening exercise is compulsory for all prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must have selected Lagos State University as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME and obtained a minimum score of 195. Applicants must also be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2026.
The university further noted that students of its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) programme who successfully completed their studies and scored at least 195 in the 2026 UTME are eligible to participate in the screening exercise, provided they selected LASU as their first-choice institution.
Direct Entry candidates, including graduates of the LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies (JUPEB), are also eligible for the screening exercise. Such candidates must have obtained the Direct Entry form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and selected LASU as their first-choice institution. The university emphasized that only LASU Diploma qualifications will be accepted for Direct Entry admission, except for candidates applying to education programmes with the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
Candidates of Lagos State origin who have successfully completed verification before the university’s Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) will have their indigene status automatically validated during the screening process.
