Lagos reaffirms commitment during Ibile Youth Academy Study Tour 2026.
The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, through the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Toyin Oke-Osinyantolu during her welcome address at the press briefing for the Ibile Youth Academy Study Tour, 2026 has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to providing opportunities for youths to thrive globally through leadership development and international exposure initiatives. The tour would be headed to the Lee Kuan Yu school of Public policy, Singapore for the 2026 edition holding from July 6 to July 15.
“In an increasingly interconnected world, exposing young leaders to international best practices, innovative governance models and practical public policy experiences is essential.” She stated.
She also added that the State sponsored Youth ambassadors to Barcelona, Spain in 2022, Finland 2024 and Canada in 2025, stating that the tours focused on education, innovation and development.
The Ibile Youth Academy Study Tour is a fully sponsored international leadership and cultural immersion program by the Lagos State Government. Introduced in 2017, it is designed for outstanding youth ambassadors and transformational leaders as reward for their excellence in the academy’s multi-stage leadership bootcamps.
Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development also addresses the state’s unwavering commitment. He stated “this initiative reflects our continues resolve to equip youth leaders with knowledge, skills and global perspectives required to contribute meaningfully to our state’s development.”
The principal partner and pioneer of the initiative, Mr. Julius Ilori attested that the program has transformed many beneficiaries including himself. He added that the participants will return with knowledge, international networks and actionable solutions that will benefit Lagos State.
Mr Adetomiwa Banjo, the Lagos State Apex Youth Ambassador, speaking on behalf of the participants thanked the state for the opportunity, promised to maximize the opportunity to gain more knowledge on governance and voluntarism and thanked the Governor personally for keeping his promise.
